Bank charges

Hi People,

New to this so keep with me. Have in the last 20 months or so had £4.200.00 in charges levied again'st my business account. Have had phone calls to bank so many times over this it's been a joke. I had been banking all the time funds from customers and client's and while they were clearing down our suppliers were always getting paid. Then out of the blue the Bank change there terms, started taking £35.00 as a returned check fee, then a refferal fee of £30.00 also. My business manager has told us if we did'nt like this we should open up a parachute account with another bank. They took these charges the same day, so when the funds were clear there would be insuffient funds available because charges were taking straight out. They were'nt clearing our suppliers checks even though most were produced on the 3-4 days of clearing. They had know problem making sure they took there charges out same day even if funds were'nt cleared. Any answer's chap's because they have made me look a right chump in the last 20 months.

  • No we were told this by our business manager over the phone, beacause the goverment had accused banks of reckless lending they were'nt going to allow this. Could'nt see how they could say this as we always had funds clearing down at the time. T he bank is BARCLAYS.
    Thanks
