HSBC question

Quick question, looking at potentially going back to HSBC, but have a question. About 12 years ago, I had a run-in with them and defaulted on a current account (overdraft issue), anyways that got statute barred 6 years ago.

Will they tell me to f**k off if I applied for an account now??

Just curious how long they kept records like that...

Cheers
I spent 25 years in the mobile industry, from 1994 to 2019. Worked for indies as well as the big networks, in their stores also in contact centres. I also hold a degree in telecoms engineering so I like to think I know what I’m talking about 😂

No. Records would have been gone by now.

HSBC are an awful bank in my experience, though - so I'd advocate going elsewhere if possible...

Well, I applied online.... after a few mins thinking about it, the system then asked if i wanted to be considered for a debit card and a chequebook. I said yes, and it said I'd get a decision in 2-3 working days.

It thought long and hard before asking me this, so wondering if it'll be OK... hope so....
