Southwest Trains - First Class
Hi
I'm travelling tomorrow from Waterloo to Bournemouth. I noticed sometimes (due to specials etc) that first class can be cheaper than a standard seat!
What is the go with free alcohol onboard? I know if you travel (believe it's during the week after a certain time in the afternoon) on certain train providers you get free alcoholic beverages provided you're in a First Class seat.
Anyone know which train networks / routes and the times of travel?
Also, is a return ticket generally only a few pennys more than a single ticket (plan on returning Saturday or Sunday the same week).
Thanks in advance.

South West Trains don't offer any "freebies" as far as I know, well a socket to charge your laptop/phone but thats about it.
Have a click around HERE for more details of any freebies available for 1st class ticket holders.0 -
Often is, yes....is a return ticket generally only a few pennys more than a single ticket (plan on returning Saturday or Sunday the same week).
Check ticket prices with any train operating company, e.g. East Coast Trains.
Or check them on National Rail Enquiries website.0 -
The title off this thread is a bit miss leading...;)0

This is often not the case for "advance" tickets as the ticket is a single so you'd need to find another cheap "advance" ticket for your return0
