Lidls do a childrens ibuprofen that does not contain aspartame, they do a paracetamol as well but although this is also free of aspartame it does have e numbers in.:D
what a good find :) I wish that had been around when my kids were small, it was all sugar-free this & sugar-free that back then, but 'they' always forgot to mention all the horrible artificial stuff that was included instead

if anyone's worried about E numbers, especially if they're in a hard to find product that would otherwise be ideal for you. check what they actually are (a Google should get you all the information you need) before deciding to not buy on account of them

for instance E300 is Ascorbic Acid, otherwise known as vitamin C, & is used among other things as an anti-oxidant

so although it's definitely best to be wary, not all of them are necessarily bad :)

Sorry to disappoint you but Schweppes does contain aspartame and saccharin.

I was so astounded at this I went to look at some Shweppes and your right, even the non diet contains it.... so much for my claims that I can taste it in anything, although it was a while since I've had any.

Anyway, went to Tescos, their own premuim lemonade (but not the cloudy, as apparently cloudy needs aspartame ?!*!?) Doesn't have any, so I bought two bottles. Mind you, I'll have to check out my liking for sodium benzoate.

I think 7-up (not the diet version) is relatively "nasty" free - or how about home-made?:D Agree about the Rocks squash!

you probably, like me, can taste the sweeteners. chances are they've changed it since you last had any. I'm constantly finding products I like are off-limits because the recipe gets altered

My DH whipped up a fab batch of home made lemonade the other day when we ran out. I think he used juice of 1 lemon, 1 pint of sodastreamed water and 2 teaspoons of sugar (to own taste) and a handful of ice. So much nicer than any of the shop bought stuff, really refreshing and no nasties (OP wanted to avoid Aspartame nasty not sugar nasty!)

Sodium Benzoate is put into drinks to preserve the preservatives! It can cause hyperactivity in children and my second dd used to get very distressed if she was given a drink with it in.
We must not, in trying to think about how we can make a big difference, ignore the small daily differences we can make which, over time, add up to big differences that we often cannot foresee.

Nnnnnnnggggghhhh. Trying very hard not to start an off topic vent here.... BUT.... Has any body had any luck finding a childrens paracetomol (or ibuprofen) suspension that is free of artificial sweeteners, especially aspartamine.

BTW, not lemonade, but, if memory serves, Orangina is relatively 'nasty' free.
Coincidentally Orangina is BOGOF in Tesco (turns around 3 times and spits with her eyes closed) at the moment

    Hi
I use infadrops paracetemol it contains : paracetemol (duh) glycerol and propylene glycol. The great thing is that it is a higher concentration so they get less of it for instance my ds who is 20 monyjs would get 5ml of calpol and he only gets 1.2 ml of infadrops so it is a big difference and easier to give to a grumpy sick child.

Most pharmacies will order for you.
