i want to receive some spam phone calls!

this may seem like a strange post, but i'm looking into spam phone calls and i'm wondering if anyone knows of any surefire ways of getting onto these lists to receive such calls, that everybody else wants to get off!

have you ever signed up at a particular website only to be bombarded with phone calls afterwards?

i'm using a completely disposable spare free SIM, so i'm not planning to give out any genuine details.

if i can get enough calls, the results may or may not end up as part of a youtube video :P

Try getting some car insurance quotes from comparison websites and put your renewal date in as today or tomorrow. You will receive calls from around 10 insurance companies (Probably more than once). To avoid the hassle of this a lot of people have started entering fake phone numbers such as 01234 567890 when getting quotes to avoid this (They will also ring you next at renewal time etc etc)

Apply for a vanquis credit card, get refused, then sit back and wait for every single dodgy loans company to start calling, pain in the proverbial!

Visit just about any freebie or competition website (preferable for a win-win situation), include your phone number and be sure to tick (or untick) the box that says "yes I want my details passed on to Tom, !!!!!! & Harry for offers and deals".

  • Apply for a 'loan' online, the dodgier the company, the better. Your phone will ring off the hook for weeks, and you're guaranteed to get a lot of good calls out of it (including those asking for your card details...not fraudulently as such, but a surefire scam, as your loan will never materialise).

I would say, though, if you're planning on posting the results online...bear in mind that the person on the end of the phone is just doing their job. It's the companies themselves that should be taken to task for their annoying spammy phonecalls.
