Phishing sites-- been tricked

My good friend on steam sent me a link which apparantly was to someones steam profile so when I went to look at it it asked me to log on, so I did. Then i noticed the URL wasn't the same but it was too late.

Anyway I know someone else must have been on my friends account, and I changed some of my passwords but would going on that site let them download a keylogger to my computer?

    Run a scan

Download MALWAREBYTES (Make sure you click 'DOWNLOAD LATEST VERSION')
    http://www.filehippo.com/download_ma..._anti_malware/
Open malwarebytes and go to UPDATE and click 'check for updates'. After its updated go to SCANNER and click PERFORM FULL SCAN then click SCAN
Post the COMPLETE log here AFTER youve deleted everything it finds

  • I doubt that it would have downloaded anything tbh. If it was for a Steam account, then it would have just saved your username and password. You should be ok if you changed your password straight away.

He said that it was a link from Steam to what looked like someone else's profile, but wasn't because of a different URL.

Steam is a legit site, but there are plenty of phishing sites that set themselves up to look like Steam and then steal your username and password - that's what the OP fell victim to.

I know Steam is legit I have lots of steam games. What I meant was one of my steam friends sent me a link which led to the community section of the fake steam website. The URL said steam community in it but ended in somelike like .ph7z.com and when i put my user and password in nothing happened.
