Yes, I was expecting a big rise in the premium but NFU confirmed it would be the same after he passed his test. I admit I was surprised.0 -
NFU quoted £420 with my son as named driver this week in a Pug 106.
If it's his car (not yours) then he should not be a named driver (do a search on 'fronting').
Assume you've also tried to use some NCB on here? If that's already being used on another car, you can't use it on your son's car.I was born too late, into a world that doesn't care

I'd be very surprised if it stayed the same after he passed his test to be honest. As everyone else is saying, you've got to be careful you don't end up fronting the insurance. Could get you into big poop! Although i'm sure you know that already!0 -
Thanks for this response however If I drive the car for more miles than he does and I drive it for longer than he does and I own it and I tell the sales person in a recorded message of my intentions I think accusations of 'fronting' would be difficult to sustain (I don't expect him to have passed his test until Oct/Nov) I do not believe a person has to be the owner and registered keeper of a car to insure it (if you tell the insurance company). No NCB used except some introductory offer. As I said I was pleased with the deal.iamana1ias wrote: »If it's his car (not yours) then he should not be a named driver (do a search on 'fronting').

Try Quinn insurence, they've worked out the cheapest for me and my friends
My daughter has been with Quinn Direct for the past year, due for renewal yesterday. She had a letter from them telling her they will not be insuring anyone from the UK anymore...
Apparently, they have gone into administration!!!!! BE AWARE!!!!!!!!0 -
Plenty of info on this site about Quinn's administration status
