Proof of Postage

At the moment i fill out those small cards and get them stamped at the desk. Getting tired of writting all the info by hand. Is there an easier way to obtain proof of postage for items? Will the claims dept accept a printout that is stamped by the Post Office?
Cheers

At my post office 19 times out of 20 they'll print me a receipt then enter the address details in the space provided.

And mine, it's easier to keep track of the longer reciepts for me too. I personally have never had a card and I like to get POP with anything I send.

I used to get those cards from the PO a few years ago and then write the buyers name and address myself. Then the PO didn't seem to like these cards as apparently it doesn't speed up the process so they just print out a receipt and write the postcode. It's much easier that way I think.

I made a mistake in my original post...i don't actually take my parcels/packets to the PO. I finish work at 6pm and the PO is long closed by this time. I take them to the sorting office/collection office where they accept them upto 6.30pm at the counter. They don't have any fancy machines to print out the house number & post code.
Anyway, i took a print out & the parcels with me tonight and the guy stamped it and signed it. Will have to wait and see what happens when i make a claim in the future. Hopefully everything will be OK.

I'd often wondered whether the RM would accept a home made 'receipt' as proof of posting. My thoughts would be along the lines of a simple sheet of paper, name and address using the same information as used on the parcel. Items totalled in number and a place for the post office stamp and a date?

It would be easier as everything could be done on the pC with cut and paste no more hand writing COPs.

At work, we cut and paste our foreign address's into MS Word, print it off and the postie who collects are parcels signs it. We have not had a problem claiming with this.

I'm sure I read of somebody somewhere doing that, but I can't remember where
