Virgin Media Advice

Hi people, I’ve been going through some difficulties with virgin media and thought before I go into it any further id ask for some advice here.
Basically like most of us people online trying to save money I used quidco to start up my virgin media services when I entered my first home because of the £100 cash back they was offering through registering online. When i tried to complete the sign-up online my address wasn’t presented for selection on the virgin media online system, so the online process came to a holt and I was sent a email saying I would be called.
So then came the call from the salesman, who i immediately told I NEEDED to carry the transaction out online so I could claim the cash back (this was my only reason for choosing virgin media in the first place). So this salesman then came out my house and assured me that it would be sorted so I could go online and complete the online checkout and receive my cashback. I think I must of asked him about it 2-3 times while he was in my home and he kept ensuring me that it would be easily sorted out, so I signed up with him that day (as I needed the internet my home quickly for my work).
Virgin media then came and installed my services and I noticed I hadn’t heard anything from the salesman (he promised to call me), so I called him up and he said it would be sorted now and try going through online again, so I did so and yet again my address wasn’t there. I called him back and told him and he assured me he’d sort it and get back to me.
Nothing happened so I called virgin media to complain (this is a few months into my contract) they told me i need to get into contact with Quidco, which i did and they told me its nothing to do with them and there is absolutely nothing they can go.
So what do I do now?
It’s obvious to see now I was lied to in order to get my name on a contract and for that salesman to receive his commission, but surely this isn’t allowed?
Thanks for reading, all help appreciated.

so I signed up with him that day
Not really anything to do with Quidco. As you say you signed up to virgin via the salesman there and then.
It is ok for me to use hindsight and point out your mistakes, but I would imagine there will be very little you can do about this now.
The salesman has deceived you and pocketed their commission, but for you to prove what the salesman did or didn't say will be almost impossible.
You have gone way past the cancellation period set by virgin.
Looks to me like you are stuck with virgin until your contract ends and you won't get any cashback either.0 -
I have this salesman's number, could i call him and record him so i have him down saying he told me it would be sorted or would I be breaking the law?
I'm so cross that i was lied to, if it wasn't for the cashback I would of picked sky or never have signed a contract which ties me in for 12 months!0 -

you would have to inform him that the call is being recorded at the very beginning thoCan you see the mountains through the fog?0 -
Yeah you would need to tell them it was being recorded, That plan goes out the window.0

I think everyone else is right and you'll need to take it on the chin.
I'm sorry that this has happened to you. What is the cancellation period set by virgin? Are you definately out of it?0 -
Start phoning up and downgrading services, they'll probably reduce your payments down significantly. Then cancel at the appropriate time and pay out a load more for BT line installation, sky box, sky installation and everything else.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0
