Hi - just dropping in to say congratulations and don't worry, I'm sure you'll manage just fine.
I can't comment on your DMP as I don't know how they work, but its so true that you really can have a baby on a tight budget. I really really regret wasting all the money I spent on baby mod-cons! There was just no need for them. I put it all on my credit cards and I now have an attic full of stuff that's like new and was hardly used and a massive pile of bills to pay  Write a list of the basics you'll need and keep an eye out for bargains in the local paper, ebay, etc. When you work out what you need and look at 2nd hand prices I'm sure it won't be so daunting. Asda and Tesco are great for baby clothes too - you can get packs of vests for £1.50 and packs of babygrows for £2-3 and they're good quality too. Avoid Mothercare like the plague..completely overpriced!! All pregnant mums are entitled to the £190 grant and if you get tax credits you'll get more for the first year of baby too.
In the grand scheme of things your debts will be paid off in a few years then you'll have all those debt free years ahead with your new addition and don't forget in a few years the older ones will come in handy for some babysitting too
I'm so glad you're feeling better about the situation now x0
