Oh God! Just found out I'm pregnant

Hi everyone, I need some help.
Been on my DMP with Payplan for 5 months now. All going well apart from Barclaycard - still!
We have been managing really well on our budget and I've been feeling much more positive.
But I've just discovered I'm pregnant. A dose of antibiotics appears to have knocked my pill out.
I'm so frightened and I don't know what to do. My husband and I had a terrible year last year and almost separated. Thanks to the DMP our financial issues have been put back into perspective and we've been getting on really well of late (obviously!).
However, I have so many worries about what will happen if we have this baby
I'm worried that all those financial stresses will come back and we'll be right back where we started.
I've worked on a budget keeping our DMP payment the same and it seems doable as it is, but what it does mean is that we'll have absolutely no spare cash in case something unexpected happens.
And talking of which, my power steering pump has just gone on my car and I daren't even think what it will cost, or where the money will come from.
Please, I need some advice

Advice is to calm down and talk things through with your husband.
Budgets change - it's life. The DMP can be adjusted if need be as circumstances change."One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."
Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."0 -

Termination?
????
There are a few links on this site where people have had the same problem. Don't stress though, as said, it happens (reducing dmp payment). Get in contact with your case officer and discuss your options. It will really mean drawing up a new budget with payplan for when the baby comes, or even now if you can't afford your payments.DFD February 2012

Hi confused and congratulations. Do you have kids already?
Have you spoken to OH about your pregnancy.
DMPs can be flexible so you'd need to talk to payplan about doing a new budget once you are on maternity leave as you'll have lower income and more outgoings. It might take you a bit longer to become debt free but you can always work on reducing that again once your little one is here or you are back working.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
The OP did not want to become pregnant (Taking the pill) Termination is a viable suggestion. Do you have a problem with that Mozzyc? This is an open forum, anyone can post and I just did !0

Termination?
What a DISGUSTING thing to say. The original poster did admit that she wasn't particually ready for a child, but is looking at managing things. You think you have the right to suggest something so personal? I think you should give yourself a good talking to. Call yourself a man!Learning to be 'good with money'0 -
Calm down everyone , it might look fairly curt but it IS a possible solution to the OP`s question
Dont think anyone needs to get quite so upset over it...0 -

I agree to an extent but he could've added it in as a suggestion aong with an option of keeping the baby instead of stating "Termnation"??????? as if it was a clearly obvious miricle answer to the distressed OP.I have learnt from my in-debt days....never again!0 -
i think you need to discuss things with your partner but having a baby is a wonderful thing ignore those on here who dont think it isReplies to posts are always welcome, If I have made a mistake in the post, I am human, tell me nicely and it will be corrected. If your reply cannot be nice, has an underlying issue, or you believe that you are God, please post in another forum. Thank you0
