British Gas Homecare - 12 month lock in?

Just a quickie - does anyone know if British Gas' Home care locks you into a 12 month contract after the initial 12 months?
I've just seen our renewal figure and it's a few pounds a month more than the prices for new customers.
I was just about to give them a call and try and argue it down, but I'll be onto a looser if I'm locked into a contract!
