Hi
My 13 year old son has a childrens account with Barclays that comes with either cashcard or visa debit card. You dont need to have an account with Barclays to open.0 -
no childrens accounts will come with a full debit card....the best you will get is an electron style card as full debits allow you to go overdrawnDebts at LBM (May '08) £5760 - Lloyds CC £4260, Lloyds OD £1500;Debts as of May 28th 2011:Santander CC: £0.00Lloyds OD : £0.00DFW Nerd #1247 - Proudly dealt with my Debts

Both Lloyds and Santander provide a Visa Debit card with their accounts for those aged 11+.
I'd go with Lloyds, given Abbey/Santander's reputation.0 -
Nationwide, but why would you want to provide this facility???0

The cards can only be issued with parental consent."An arrogant and self-righteous Guardian reading tvv@t".
!!!!!! is all that about?0 -

they might say that but they will be full authorisation electron type cards. its illegal to provide credit products to minors and full debit debit cards allow you to go overdrawn so banks wont provide them to minorsDebts at LBM (May '08) £5760 - Lloyds CC £4260, Lloyds OD £1500;Debts as of May 28th 2011:Santander CC: £0.00Lloyds OD : £0.00DFW Nerd #1247 - Proudly dealt with my DebtsOlympic 2012 Challenge #12

these cards are cip and pin only and cannot be swipped, thus providing security that a auth code has to be created for a debit card transaction.:santa2:0 -

not sure what you're getting at....i would imagine you mean they're online cards that check balance with the bank before authorisation, which is exactly my point
full debit cards can be used in offline terminals, electrons etc can notDebts at LBM (May '08) £5760 - Lloyds CC £4260, Lloyds OD £1500;Debts as of May 28th 2011:Santander CC: £0.00Lloyds OD : £0.00DFW Nerd #1247 - Proudly dealt with my DebtsOlympic 2012 Challenge #12
