We've bought Asda's own Soya Milk long life for about a year costing 63p. Now they have a 88p sign crossed out on shelf saying rollback. It hasn't been that price for at least the year that we've bought it. So con or not ?

They probably put it up to 88p at midnight then rolled it back a minute later.

They must have put the milk for 88p in at least one store in the country for a set number of days, so they can then say it was sold at that price.

Tuna, John West. 4 cans for £5 something, buy one get one free.
On nearby aisle, 4 cans not on buy one get one free were less than half the price.
I complained to a nearby assistant who couldn't have cared less and told me to go to customer services. There was a massive queue so I gave up!
Interestingly, Tesco do not have an email address to email complaints to - you either have to go to the trouble of writing or phoning. I suppose they know they'd be inundated if they had an email address!

what was the assistant meant to do, its not his problem though

I thought that was just for sale prices, didn't think there were any rules for rolled back prices.

Can we forget the assistant...I was simply trying to warn people about this! Wishing I hadn't bothered now!

It is a bit like the RRP shops say things have been priced at before they reduce them.

    Thanks Jenny,

I see what you're getting at - the offer is (deliberately?) misleading customers into thinking they're getting a bargain. If the exact same product is sold for less that half the price of the BOGOF offer, then they are behaving rather underhandedly as most people will trust that they are getting good value. What a horrible practice, regardless of legalities!

I dont think the term 'rollback price' has any legal meaning the way 'half price' or 'sale price' does.
rollback is just an asda term which is essentially meaningless!
