Hi
I hope someone maight be able to point me in the right direction:o
I sent my updated version of the reclaim letter to HSBC on 2.2.10 and I have allowed them their 40 days to respond and I have recieved nothing back from them.
I sent the letter recorded delivery and I can see when I put my tracking No. into royal mail that the letter has been signed for their end.
I'm just wondering where I go from here? Do I resend the letter or is there another template letter for when banks ignore the original letter?
Any help would be gratefully recieved as I don't want HSBC thinking they can just ignore me and I will give up.
Thanks again in advance.

Which address did you send the letter to?
And what do you mean by 40 days?0 -
Perhaps the OP has confused 40 days with 40 working days, which is the 8 weeks the bank has to respond before a claim can be forwarded to the FOS?"Now to trolling as a concept. .... Hi thank you both for responding:)
I thought banks had to respond to letters of complaint within 40 days:o. How long do they have to reply??
I can't remember off hand which address I sent the letter to I will go and dig my paperwork out.Nothing to report:p0 -
They have up to 8 weeks to resolve the matter (or provide a deadlock letter) before you can take the matter to the FOSrolleypolleypud wrote: »Hi thank you both for responding:)

...
The 40 days applies when asking them for a SAR - perhaps that was the root of the confusion?"Now to trolling as a concept. ....
