Register signing - Help please

My OH and I are really struggling to find songs that we can sign the register to at our hotel wedding.
We don't want classical music, we're both very into music and want the music of the day to be special.
He's not so keen on my suggestions as they are all quite upbeat and he says people will fidget but he can't suugest anything else himself!

Any ideas?

I don't know what you class as classical, but I'm thinking of this...

    May it be - Enya
May it be an evening star
    Shines down upon you
May it be when darkness falls
    Your heart will be true
    You walk a lonely road
Oh! How far you are from home

    Mornie utli (darkness has come)
Believe and you will find your way
    Mornie alanti (darkness has fallen)
A promise lives within you now

May it be the shadows call
    Will fly away
May it be you journey on
    To light the day
    When the night is overcome
You may rise to find the sun

    Mornie utli (darkness has come)
Believe and you will find your way
    Mornie alanti (darkness has fallen)
A promise lives within you now

A promise lives within you now

Would you consider the above to be classical?

How about Katie Melue type music?

Going away from the norm I had the frog chorus and we all stand together, it went down really well with the guests who didnt know about it.

I don't want to appear rude (which means I will) but if you are both into music and want the music to be special, then you must have music that means something to the both of you?
If you don't want something mainstream, maybe you could look at alternative versions of songs that you like, e.g. the "unplugged" versions, or when Radio 1 do their live lounge sessions...something along those lines?

What's wrong with having something upbeat?

It's your wedding, so you choose music that says something about both of you ~ don't worry whether the guests will like the music or not.

Upto now we're having 'signed, sealed, delivered' by Stevie Wonder (we're massive fans) which is up tempo, and I know the lyrics are not what everyone would say on their wedding day, but they do ring true for the 2 of us!

Still haven't chosen 100% what I'm walking into yet, but we're walking out to 'Your love keeps lifting me higher' by Jackie Wilson.

We're both absolutely loving Michael Buble, 'Everything' so we may have that for signing yet, but if not, it will be in the day somewhere!
Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...
  • Dizzie - your not being rude.

We do have music we both like / want (Donna summer - I feel love, Beyonce - Crazy in love, Stevie W - You ar the sunshine etc) but my OH thinks that you cant have upbeat music as it will make people fidget, i think the complete opposite so we are trying to find a compromise.
