Gourmet Card Recurring payment issue

Hi All:j

I'm after a bit of advice, I got a gourmet dining card 3 month trial and after the first month phoned the company to say I wanted to cancel after the trial.

They took £39.99 off my card anyway and when I got in touch said I didn't send my card back so they took payment anyway. No one said I needed to send the card back, but it does say on the back of the card to do so. :(

I'm guessing there's nothing I can do now? Do I have to accept they charged me and thats it or can I dispute it?

Thanks all!

Lisa

if it says on the card you have to return it when you cancel then you can probably not do anything....except send it back to avoid further charges.

With the limited info supplied it's hard to tell, but it very much appears like you haven't complied with the T&C's by holding onto the card and could have still used it if you so wished. What does the paperwork say that arrived with the card ?
They obviously insisit on the cards return so former, let's say not so honest customers can't continue to obtain discounts they're not entitled to.

Is the £39.99 for a years membership?! If so, and they won't give you the money back - then you may as well keep the card for the year and try and use it - and ensure you cancel it in time before the year's up AND make sure you send the card back then!!!

I have a taste london card - and although I was unsure about paying out the membership fee in the first place...it does pay for itself...especially as it encourages my BF to pay when it's cheaper!!! :j

Yeah, I think you can't do anything about that for now except to use it for the time being (if it's for a year's membership). Better be careful in reading the T&C's next time though. :)
