For bothering with me, your info has helped, l did try to research this co on a long time review, hence the panick on the bottom shares (though did think to buy more whilst price going down) just needed direction, plus as lam using what my mum left me when she died,(which wasnt much bless her) with mothers day just passing, l was more upset with myself, thats why l asked advice, l should not have took my lows out on someone that bothered to reply, and again lam sorry, l have ventured into something that l enjoy and l should listen and learn.:)

What a wonderfully gracious response. You have learned much. It's a great shame that other new members don't learn so quickly.

nessjw, sorry to hear about your loss.

Are you sure you want to be risking the money your mother left you by investing. Most people only see possible huge upside and not the downside risk of losing money.

You have taken a position in CZA which is a volatile share and its SP can move accordingly. Can you put up with a 20% to 30% fall in the SP, if not then perhaps you need to reconsider your approach. Maybe think about investing in funds first?

    Afternoon....thankyou..ie my mum..

I took a percentage of the money that l felt l could stand losing (not that l want to lose any money of course:D)... also l thought most peeps may treat themselves to a holiday or WHY, so l treated myself to shares!!
I intented to buy lloys and rsb shares as a long term investment, in the hope they recover, with the view that l could lose.....with the rest of the set aside money l brought into lavendon,CZA, and cov, with the hope of a shorter term investment....l understand shares go up and go down, but regards to CZA, l couldnt understand the sharp fall and wondered if anyone knew why.....l will def look into the fund you mentioned, maybe theres an old thread on here l could look up? Trouble is, lam impulsive, impatient and like a gamble, the recipe for disaster l guess :) if it all goes wrong, then l lose what l put aside, and certainly will not add to my 'disaster fund'!! ;)

nessjw, I think the main reason for the retrace in the SP recently was down to the A$35.2million tax loss, I don't think people were expecting this.

Having said that the SP is rebounding quite strongly today (up 3.5% atm).

You may find it useful to follow the UK Stockmarket 2009 and beyond thread, there are some very insightful posters and you can see what action people are taking and where they are positioning themselves.
