Leaving car overnight at different address

I want to know that the issues are about leaving the car overnight at an address which is not the risk postcode attached to the insurance.

When I get an insurance quote it asks for the address where it is kept overnight... but surely everyone visits friends and relatives at the weekend and leaves their car at other locations around the country overnight sometimes.

I am concerned that if i visited friends and the car was stolen that there might be insurance issues?

Shouldn't be a problem if you occasionally stay over. It's where the vehicle is generally kept that matters.

As far as I know (used to work in insurance) it's where the car is kept for the majority of the time.

ive seen it worded "usualy kept" id say most people will park away from home a few times a year , hotels , family and so on

It won't be a problem unless you actualy move your sole residency to another address and don't notify the change.

The main issue is where someone gives a post code which is purely to attract a lower premium, when the actually live in a higher risk area.
