making buyers happy by accident.

I had a very rare buyer, one who wanted to pay by cheque so I made an exception but told him I was on holiday soon so he would need to be prompt. Cheque sent yesterday, arrived today (2nd class stamp as well!), and as I have no idea when I'll be going to the bank and the item is only £3.75 I sent the item this afternoon. Emailed to say it was on its way and buyer replied telling me I am very trusting and he might be a crook who will make off with the goods. Then I got another message saying he realises his email was a bit odd, and he isn't a crook, honest! and he was just so happy that a seller trusted him to use a cheque as he usually ends up waiting weeks for his goods that he got rather carried away when replying to me.
Just got a third email to say what an awesome seller I am (I suspect this is a younger person). Oh well, at least I made someone happy.

Yeah. When I first started I went out of my way to help a new buyer trying to buy a small sci fi collectable from me, I really went the extra mile. Took a cheque (paypal was rarely used when I started) sent the goods with much swapping of emails, wrapping instructions, pleas to be my best friend, then 3 weeks later cheque bounced. Phoned buyer who told me it was their dad's cheque and he hadn't got permission to use it.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
