the land registry details tell me it was bought for 96k in 2007 - where are you getting your info from? i paid the £4 to download them
the difference between this and the ones you posted is simply location. the flat im interested in looks onto an award winning park, and the others are all in not so nice areas. the street im thinking about buying is highly sought after - indeed not many come onto the market with the close proximity of the park, never mind a view from the front window
edit: the avenue one is the best of the links above - however, again the one im looking at has the park view from the window - its also not over looked by any other house - like the one int he avenue
i love the interior - the kitchen is great in my eyes!
a search on net houses prices tells me that one flat in the same street went for 190k in 2007 and two separate flats went for 104k in 20060 -
Fair enough. So long as you have done the research and are happy to pay for something that is important to you. And if location is key, then go to the location that makes you happy.
Worth thinking about longer term for a few streets... but your call.
I should know - I bought my first 1 bed flat for £182k in 2006, and it was a 30sqm 1 bed flat - but in Aldgate just by the City of London! Very optimistic agents now value it around £230-240, which I personally think is INSANE for the flat, regardless of location!0 -
now to me that does sound insane - i couldnt cope with living in london!
to put it in perspective, i live less than ten minutes walk away just now, and the flat im renting in, is worth £150k for a 2 bed - so i really do think its about location in this instance.
i might still make a cheeky offer of what they paid for it and go from there - ill keep you all updated!
thanks for all the advice

Personally I would be cheeky and put in a low offer, the worst they can say is no! I completed on a house last Friday that was advertised at an offers over price, and I got it for £2500 less than that price!0
