Lowri Beck are a metering company that do indeed work on behalf of nPower (and possibly other suppliers).

The URL you mention is registered to Lowri Beck Services.

with no difficulty whatsoever anyone can find the registered supplier of any address in the uk online, so don;t worry about them in direct relation to your energy supply, if they were interested in swapping your supply for a commission they could already have done so without speaking to you..

my concern would be why are they contacting you if you are registered to give readings online, if the bills are up to date just ignore them,

Now for my real answer, the rest was just paranoia at the industry in general, non-specific.

Remember if you are giving your readings online you are indirectly cutting them off from their commission, they will be desperately wanting you to give them these readings so they can justify their existence, as so many of us know from estimated bills, even with meters outside, these companies want the cash but don't always do the job. stick em..............

There is regulation that the electricity supplier (or their representatives) must read the meter themselves every so often (think it is two years for electric - may be wrong about the time-period), even if you read the meter yourself.
This is to ensure that there is nothing obviously wrong with the meter, that it is safe and ensures that the customer isn;t deliberately giving wrong meter readings to the supplier

When you provide a meter reading to your supplier they have to pass it to there meter reading company who then validate the reading and pass it back to your supplier validated.

By supplying the reading directly to the meter reading company it cuts part of the process out and therefore shortens the time between you providing it and the supplier using it for billing.

This is a genuine company who work for NPower and other suppliers reading and changing meter's. Thier main office is in Wigan and all readers and engineers carry ID that can be verified.

LBSL are a meter reading agent for Npower.

They are also the contracted Meter Operator for 4 Npower regions now.

If you have had a letter, check what it's for because Npower are using them to make contact with customers due to certain issues. If it's just a read from the meter reading parties, it's just standard stuff. If any letter or call mentions more e.g. checking your meter, it could be one of these other outsourcing areas they have but those are limited to certain faults. They would give you a better explanation than just a read if that happens.
