NatWest ignored request for past fees...?

I don't really know what to do in this scenario. I decided to follow the reclaiming guide to try and get back the hundreds NatWest have taken off me over the years and I seem to have fallen at the first hurdle! The guide doesn't say what to do in this scenario, so I'm hoping someone here can help...?
I sent them the request for all fees on my account on February 2nd, I even included a cheque for £10 (which hasn't been taken). The guide says they have 40 days to respond, which I make March 14th. Not only have they not responded, but they've decided to send a default notice to my mum's address - an address I don't even live at any more and have informed them of on several occasions (a side thought - can they legally take anything from an address I don't reside at and have no possessions in?)!
What do I do in this case? I've already waited 40 days, it seems unfair I should have to wait another 40 because they decided to ignore my original request.

A default is simply a mark on your credit history. It is personal, not applied to an address (although it's kind of linked to the address to ensure it relates to the correct person, as all your credit history is - but it doesn't affect others at the address).
It doesn't give any right to cease goods. Even if there was a right, they could only take goods that belong to you.
In respect of the SAR, I'd contact them about the request. The fact they've not even banked the cheque suggests they may not have received the request. Did you send recorded delivery and have proof of receipt?"Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100 -
I reclaimed all my charges back from Natwest and Lloyds, so I would urge you to continue, I had some fantastic help from another site too called " LB" another free site like this one, be sure to look out they are fantastic people and have helped me no end, without them and the other good hearted people of these 2 sites I would never of continued, they also have a list of telephone numbers and address's relevent to youre bank and will advise you of your next step.... Never lose faith, never give up they will help you as they have many others before you, goodluck and get over to LB as well as here, Oh just a tip PLEASE ALWAYS send every correspondence by recorded delivery as then you have proof that they received it!!!
My case is also on LB from start to finish, look out for ThriftkittenV Natwest in the financial hardship and reclaiming success section.
Another point to mention is that I was able to get the "Default" removed from Natwest too, someone called "christian masters" dealt with the default as I felt it had been placed on my credit file in error, I have his email address somewhere, maybe worth a try!!I don't really know what to do in this scenario. Haha, adopt away!
I didn't send recorded delivery, that was silly of me. I will call them tomorrow and see what's going on...I just get really flustered/frustrated easily when talking to NatWest as the conversation always goes the same way - they tell me one thing then do another!
They had me fill out an expenditure form, too, which they have also failed to acknowledge (sent separately to the letter and cheque regarding fees). I guess my account comes under "snowballing" in that I went over my overdraft by a small amount, they charged me for that, then charged me again and thus the cycle continues as I haven't got any money beyond what I need to survive (and to boot I'm pregnant!). I wouldn't bother with all the stress of this if I didn't feel that at he end of it I could be completely debt free as this account is the only debt I have..But as for my incoming, I'm fairly certain I qualify for financial hardship. I'm currently signed off by the doctor for hyperemesis gravidarum, and only qualify for £50/week from the state!0 -
Ok you must get on bended knee( mind the bump)
Repeat after me.....
1,I MOOSTICKS DO SOLEMNLY SWEAR THAT I WILL ALWAYS SEND BY RECORDED DELIVERY TO NATWEST FROM THIS MOMENT FORWARD!!!
2, I WILL KEEP MY SPIRITS UP, REGARDING THIS MATTER EVEN THOUGH WHEN FEELING FRUSTRATED, I MUST REMEMBER THE SWEET SMELL OF VICTORY.
Ok what I would suggest is starting afresh, did you use the template letter to ask for a list of your bank charges, if you did print another one along with another £10 check and get it down to the postoffice and send it recorded delivery asap, Keep proof of postage!!!
As soon as you have recieved a list of your statements use a high lighter to highlight any charges, once you have these you need to send template letter number 2 requesting a full refund of those charges.
Oh I think I still have my letters on my laptop, let me go and see and if you would like I can PM them to you as it is a different address that deals with Financial hardship I think., Oh I can feel the excitement building in me now hehehee!!!Haha, adopt away!
