Cheapest But also most embarrasing (to me anyway) Car my wife has been quoted cheaply on (at 25, female and new pass) is £462 per year for.... a daewoo matiz.

:rotfl:I had to google it ! lol :rotfl:good price.... what colour is it?
  • Thank you BB and Nick.

Until I actually pass, and know I can go out and buy the car i want, I am going to stick to internet searches

I actually looked at a daewoo matiz as it was a 5 door and i quite liked it! But didn't do the checks.

I know there is more to it than the car, and unfortunately it will be parked on the street which makes a difference.

Its brilliant that you are all giving me this advice - can I ask Nick, who is insuring your wife?

Have you been giving them car names or registrations from cars you have seen for sale? I can't quite remember but I think I got better quotes with the reg given

Tried a couple of fiestas - thinking parts etc would be more reasonable than some foreign cars - unfortunately, they seem to be at the steeper end of the quotes.

Thats a real pity, I used to love my N Reg Fester - took me nearly 4 years of abuse to kill it off :D

  • Hi She doesn't have the car yet, These were just the preliminary's to see what was most affordable for us to run first.

In this case though that price was obtained via confused.com and with ecar, but having looked again out of curiosity it went down to £433.

Also remember the cashback sites like quidco. Some insurers will give up to £60 back for using them.

  • Thank you again.

    Just did a daewoo, 1999 reg. on confused...was £740.

Must be because I will be parked up on street overnight/postcode.

    The search continues!

    You are all very kind!
