Estate Agents GGrrrrrrr

Phoned to view a repo this afternoon (cash buyer). Agreed 3.30pm. I rang the EA at 2pm to say I was running late and would be there about 3.40. Got to the house at 3.42 and no one there. Rang the EA to be told it was my fault for being late and they had another house to show at 4pm. 60 mile round trip wasted.

Who says EA's are struggling for sales?

Frustrating isn't it! The trouble is that if they had waited any longer for you then it would have made THEM late for their next viewing.
My home is usually the House Buying, Renting and Selling Forum where I can be found trying to (sometimes unsucessfully) prove that not all Estate Agents are crooks. With 20 years experience of Sales/Lettings and having bought and sold many of my own properties I've usually got something to say ;)

Yes but I did give them 1 1/2 hours notice so they could have said no don't go as they had another viewing to get to.

2.42pm on one person's clock may be 2.45pm on another. Did you ring again when you realised you were going to miss the second appointment?

I rang at 2.55 to say I was definately on my way - it was a 40 minute drive that took a bit longer. The EA told me there was another party viewing at 3.30 so I didn't think 2 minutes (or even 5) would matter when I had specifically rung to say I would definately be there.

So If I had decided to spend 30 minutes looking at the house from 3.30 what about the 4pm then??

If I was the EA I would have at least rung me to say he had already left the property at 3.40 - they did take my mobile number afterall.
