Should I buy a greenhouse from "Norfolk Greenhouses"?

I have seen this website (http://www.norfolk-greenhouses.co.uk) mentioned a number of times on here and they seem to provide good quality, reasonable greenhouses. I currently own an Argos walk-in plastic greenhouse which has just about lasted 2 years but the wind has taken its toll even during the Summer months and it really needs replaced. So, I was looking for something fairly cheap but longer lasting.

What do you think of this one from Norfolk Greenhouses "Standard" range:
http://www.norfolk-greenhouses.co.uk/shop/shop-infopage.php?longref=56~0
Would it stand up to gales?
The Ultimate version (http://www.norfolk-greenhouses.co.uk/shop/shop-infopage.php?longref=71~0) is nearly twice the price so I would like to go for the standard but do you think it would hold up against the wind?

Has anyone even got one of these greenhouses?

Many thanks!

We had one for years before investing in a glass one. For the money it was ok and lasted many years, we really did get our monies worth from it. On the plus side kids thowing stones and kicking balls had no glass to break so was a bonus.
We had the standard 8x6 one.

I've got a 6'x6' Ultimate, and I'd recommend it as long as you are good at building things. The instructions aren't the best, but the finished product is excellent. I think the Standard range look a bit flimsy.
If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.

That was my worry - that the standard range would be too flimsy - if it lasts, say, 4-5 years I will be happy - by that stage I will have enough money to buy a proper greenhouse. The Ultimate range is £180 and getting close to the cost of a real greenhouse, while the standard is just £99 which is much more appealing to my moneysavingexpert.com sense!

Would the standard version last 4-5 years of gales, frost and snow?

What sort of base do you need for these greenhouses? Can I put it on just slabs, or does it need a proper foundation?

I've just ordered a Halls 6x6 popular from The Greenhouse People, i found them to be the cheapest for a Halls greenhouse (just hoping they are a good company). The base was included for free with my order, only downside is the 3-5 weeks delivery, but that seems pretty standard when i've looked at other sites. Also i went to a garden centre that had Halls display greenhouses so that i could see the quality before i decided to purchase, why not see if any of your local garden centres stock the the norfolk ones so that you can see if you like them

Mine's just bolted to slabs. Having said that, I'm considering getting some railway sleepers to make a base & raise the height of it.

The standard range has a roll of plastic which you stick down with double sided tape but seems to work. I have an Ultimate 8'x6' that has twinwall Polycarbonate roof and glass clear plastic panels around the sides it went together in an afternoon but the front and rear are a little complicated not clear instructions for the double sliding doors and window in the rear. Now its up and quite sturdy. I'm a happy bunny/bear and had great results from it last year. :T

Got a standard 8 by 6 last year, we screwed it to a wooden frame (all pressure treated) which was fixed with wooden spikes into the ground. But we have heavy clay soil so once in wooden spikes/post etc are solid as anything.
They are a bit hard work to assemble, but I found it not nearly as bad as some say and for the price it is a good way to start.

BTW our neighbour is a chippy and has assembled many types for different people and he reckons even the expensive ones are hard work to put together lol.

Got some lovely toms last year and cukes, so looking forward to using it again this year. It seems as good as new and stood up to all the strong winds etc we had last year, unfortunately OH decided to scape snow off it with a metal spade (I used a brush) so we have one panel with a small tear in. Have some plastic roll left so will either use that or knowing OH the duck tape will some out lol.
