Thomson Holiday Booking

Hi all
I put a deposit on a holiday to Tenerife a couple of days ago, we go over Christmas. My son was surfing the net as he does regularly, checking things out and found the identical holiday with Portland for £300 less. I have spoken to the the Thomson shop where I booked it and they can do absolutely nothing about this price anomoly (sp?). One girl kept saying over and over that Portland and Thomson are completely separate, when I know that Portland come under Thomsons 'umbrella' so to speak. Is it just tough? £300 is an awful lot of money, who can I speak to try to straighten this out? The deposit is apparently totally un-refundable, I feel I have no leg to stand on and I am seriously annoyed with myself and them for being so immoveable. We had already done searches on the net for the approx. date, but couldnt find anything which is why I resorted to going to the Thomson shop. Never again, I feel totally ripped off
Hope someone can help.....

I think once a deposit is paid that is it. How much would it cost to change the names and sell the holiday on?
How much per person is the difference?Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0 -
I dont know about selling it on, I havent looked into that.
The difference pp is about £90. There are 4 of us going, 2 adults, 2 children aged 12 and 13 (14 by the time we return) so the older one gets charged as an adult anyway0
