hi im hopeing some one can help me out as im helping my mam to claim the ppi on a load for a sofa she phoned up hfc and talked to a woman on the phone who took infomation and said that she would be in contact soon 2 days later we got a letter.
"upon approval of your application, we sent a "Welcome Pack" witch contained the terms and conditions of the PPI policy. This policy provided all the infomation needed with regards to the PPI, including the linitations and exclusions, and there was a 30-day `cooling off` period, during this time you could cancel the policy at no cost. After this period the PPI coild be cancelled at any time, however a refund would not be provided. I would like to respectfully advice that it remains the customer`s responsibility to read all the documents that we provide befor signing them. Upon receipt of your signed legal agreement we could only conclude that you believed the PPI to be both appropriat and necessary, as u had indicated you wished to purchase the insurance and wa have not received any previous contact stating otherwise
At the time of completing your loan application the sales advisor would have informed you the PPI was available in order to protect your monthly loan payments. You would then be provided with infomation concerning the features, benfits, exclusions and limitations of the PPI policy in order to make an informed desision wheather or not to purchase the policy.
the desision to purchase the policy was not based on a recommendation from the sales advisor. Had you wished to query this product your were adviced to contact our customer services department.
could any one please advice where she stand as when i asked her about the sales person she said that she was not told or informed about the PPI or the option not to take it where does she stand
thanks

Hi There.
Was the agreement already including the PPI or did your mam have to sign to agree with it. Do you have other reasons to think you may have been mis sold?
Who was the loan agreement taken out with and what year was it?:mad:0 -
when she signed for the load she thought it was just for the loan and did not know that there was ppi included and was not told it was part of the loan
the loan was taken out in dec 2003 repayments started jan 20040 -

I think this is a very common one, but a good reason.
Good luck with this.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"
