Anybody planning on doing this in a day, or staying overnight somewhere? Thinking of staying overnight in the Utoxxeter travelodgeon Aturday 30th. Does anyone know how far it is to Alton Towers from here, and can you get you get a train/bus connection.

The travelodge at Uttoxeter is on the outskirts of town, about 1 and a half miles from the centre of town and the bus station. Its an easy drive from that travelodge to Alton Towers if you have a car though.

Thanks for that balletshoes. I actually went ahead and booked two nights in the Derby travelodge yesterday, as it's close enough to alton Towers and has got better reviews than the uttoxeter one
Got a real bargain the the travelodge sale yesterday,- Friday 29th at £9 and Saturday 30th at £12.:j

Even better, i looked at my tickets again, and the date is actually 30th October which is Saturday. For some reason i had thought we had got tickets allocated for Sunday 31st,- not so good as DD is back at school on Monday 1st. Novermber.
