Hi I am feeling rather cheated as I moved into a new build housing association home last November and was told that my current supplier for Gas and Electric was Southern Electric, I kept getting letters in the post from British gas saying they were glad to have previously had me as a customer and would be happy to supply me at my new address, I called british gas and was told about a card machine that I could use as a top up at home(plugs into laptop and pay to top up with debit card).
Anyway the letters came thick and fast from british gas saying they would be happy to take over the gas and electric from southern electric but that I needed to contact southern electric and clear my account, which I have NOT done, Lasr week I recieved a letter from BG stating that they NOW supply my electric, I was really angry at this as I did not agree to switch nor did I pay up and give any meter readings to southern electric, I feel cheated out of being able to switch my dual fuel online through quidco and earning some cash back.
I contacted the complaints dept at British gas and they are looking in to it, does anyone have any experience with this, if so I'd love to know the outcome.

Contact either supplier (but I would suggest Southern Electric as they have the most to gain by putting matters back to how they were) and ask them to invoke the Erroneous Transfer Customer Charter

Thankyou for the advice, I have contact British Gas complaints and they are going to investigate by listening to any telephone conversations between myself and their representatives, she said it will take up to 10 days and she will get back to me.
