The thing you're looking for is processor usage. Right click on the Task Bar and select Task Manager, or press Ctrl+Alt+Del (on Windows 95/8/ME). If you've got an NT based OS, you can also press Ctrl+Alt+Del and select "Task Manager".
Once there, click on Processes, then click twice on the "CPU" column header. This will tell you what's running like crazy. If it's this slimbrowser, kill it (highlight it and click on "End Process", then accept the warning) and see what happens. Good luck.0 -
Hi, the only thing that is apparently using 99% of the cpu is
system idle process with outlook express using the other 1%.
It just concerned me that the resources were so high, in internet explorer it has rarely gone above 60,000.Stopped smoking Jan 2007 after 23 years!Cigarettes NOT smoked = 240,945Smoke free days = 11 Years :TCash saved so far = £125,45,110 -
By 'system resources' do you mean memory usage? It's possible that Slimbrowser has a memory leak (a situation where it allocates memory but doesn't release it when it's finished with it). If so, the more you use it without shutting it down the more memory it will use. See if there is an update to Slimbrowser.0
