Yes - you can do it online or fill in a V10. If you do it online prior to receiving the DVLA reminder - you'll need some data off the Registration doc (as you won't have the Ref from the reminder!)

    Info here:-

If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !

  • You can do it at the post office, just take all the relevant documents and fill in a form when you get there.

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton

    Rubbish!

Take your V5 (log book), an insurance certificate and either new or old style MOT certificate to any car tax issuing Post Office. There are no forms to fill in.

OK - as post #4 then - just take your stuff to the PO and fill in a V10.

I had to ring DVLA for my renewal in June as the reminder hadn't been received. Told me there were 600k delayed and would be received the following week. Eventually received it a couple of days before the month end - so uncertain if that was a 'one off' - or they have problems?

Well done - that's one of the more impressive first posts! Do you normally make friends so readily?

Unless you know better than DVLA - of course you need to complete a licence application - if you don't have the reminder. Quote from the DVLA site where the reminder isn't available:-

"You will need to fill in a form V10 'Application for a Vehicle Licence', which you can get at Post Office® branches"
