Hi All,
I need to end a long running saga,
Basically bought some goods over internet.
Goods weren't supplied within 30days.
When goods eventually arrived they weren't to specification ordered.
Got full refund.
Goods still haven't been collected.
Been nearly 6 months.
When does suppliers rigth to the goods end.
I.e. at what point do I say I've waited long enough and dispose of the goods?
The items were bought by me in my name but on behalf of a club.
If I now hand these goods to the club, and the company that supplied them wake up to the fact they haven't collected.
What can they do?
I think i have the right to dispose of the goods as I see fit, but any proceeds should be surrendered to the supplier if they ask for the goods at a later date.
But i can't now find the references for it.
Tony.

You need to take reasonable steps to inform the company that you still have the goods and give them the opportunity to collect.
Reasonable is the most profitable word in a lawyers vocabulary so to clarify you would need to tell them in writing and preferably twice if they don't respond to your first mail.
You are correct in that if you sell them, the proceeds belong to the supplier"The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, but wiser people so full of doubts."

Write or email them and explain what's happened, ask for a confirmation that your letter/email has been received and read.
I think that 6 months is the time limit, but I'm not 100% sure.
I wouldn't sell or dispose of them yet, I'd probably wait a few more months if they don't reply or collect them, it could cause more problems if they turn around and say they want them back and you don't have them.[STRIKE]Seventeen[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]Eighteen[/STRIKE] Nineteen(!) year old student - dim at the best of times0 -
Collection of the goods was agreed in writing on 28/09/09.
but never happened.
So therefore working on the 6 month rule - 28th of this month I can dispose of them.
