Cheap camping equipment

We will be taking up camping this year and need to buy some of the equipment. We have the bargain Outwell tent, airbeds, 12v pump, stacking pans, plus lots of bits and pieces. We need sleeping bags, camp kitchen, stove, lighting. Did a trawl of the charity shops this morning but nothing there today. Anyone know a good cheap source? (Looked on Ebay but not paying THOSE prices)

Although we have sleeping bags we tend to take a range of normal bedding as I prefer to sleep in normal bedding rather than nylon sleeping bags! For a double matress take one single duvet for under and a double for on top.
We assembled a selection of folding chair/tables from B&Q/Argos etc and plastic crockery but have a spare set of metal cutlery. Take an assortment of plastic crates/containers to store stuff and to carry things up for washing up. For water carrier we use old pop bottles, we have a single burner gas cooker, and you can get replacement cylinders from Asda. Lighting we have a number of torches and a lantern. As well as an assortment of tea-lights (for outside use only). If we are away for longer than 24 hours I take a few old doormats for entrances to avaiod the muddy well trodden area and useful for taking shoes off.
Hope this makes some senseSmile it confuses people!0 -
Aldi had a bargain tent, stove, air beds, sleeping bags etc about May last year, not sure when you will be going or if it will be repeated but just keep your eye out.0

Boot fairs are good for camping stuff.
We got our camp kitchen from the local skip .Our stove was from Argos or Index(cant remember which) which was cheaper than millets for the exact same stove. My sleeping bag was from the RSPCA charity shop but I wasnt looking for it (best time to find em is when your not looking) kids bags were from millets.
Consider a wind break to put up in front of your tent.Else you will be like a sideshow if you want your tent open.Makes a little garden fence effect and stops people walking right infront of your tent all night.0 -
Woolies were doing a gas cannister stove for £9.99 a few weeks ago not seen them lately though, Millets did have one for £19.99 last weekend though.WHOOOOSHHHHHHHHH……..

Yes, cant wait till the camping stuff comes in the shops. Have bought Vango sleeping bags because I didnt want the kids complaining of the cold, but all the other stuff can be second hand or hopefully sale stuff. Will take a look at Woolies.
