Also please may i add as the stat is default the tank and its fitted with an elctric element to help heat the water then it may rise to 100 degrees which would allow the boiling water to travel up the over flow pipe and into your header tank in the roof space and it turn allowing that water to boil and melt to tank allowing the water to release and flood your home with hot water. . I personally would charge around £60 for that kinda work so you should get a plumber for around that money.0

is there a device which alerts you to a fault on your hot water tank when a problem arises. Such a device would be great rather than waking up on a cold morning to no hot water. if you are alerted earlier by some sort of device you can get the problem sorted. anyone know of such a device?0
