    I bought one of these
http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.205-9502.aspx last september from Tesco when it was reduced to 75% off by mistake ( was meant to be 50%). paid £139.00 I think. It is far and away the best mattress I have ever slept on and I find it difficult to get up in the morning. However I need to get mattress cover for it and apparently you need to get special thin ones for Memory foam. Any ideas anyone?

I can't actually recommend any. If I were you I would stay away from big brand names and big chain stores, and shop on line from a seller who gives a proper satisfaction guarantee that allows you to actually unpack and sleep on the mattress. This way it is in their interest to make sure that you make the right choice the first time.

You said in an earlier post that you can get a quality mattress for around the same price, really? for £105 delivered? And they will let you unpack it and sleep on it to make sure you're happy?

    The reviews don't back up your views either;

9.1 out of 10 from 61 reviews - not bad!

Yes that's right, but decent quality, not high quality.

Remember that 99% of reviews are posted with 2 weeks of delivery. So they don't reflect long term reliability. Many posts on MSE do, as they are often posted when people ask a question.

I would suggest a breathable waterproof mattress protector (not the horrible plastic type). They are usually a terry type fabric on top, with a breathable waterproof gortex type backing.

Do a search in the MSE forums for them, and you will see.

For a guest room you should be ok, as long as you don't have 100's of visitors.

I've just done a search out of interest and out of the 300 posts that come up most were from you slating Silentnight and if anyone dared to give a good review then they seem to be shot down by you for doing so.

Glad to see a lot of people got the mattress on offer I got one in the last Tesco sale and am very pleased with it as are the many people from HDUK where you kept posting the same thing as here.

Thanks OP, ordered double mattress yesterday and had call saying will be delivered next Saturday. Can't wait!

No offence to Tim but it appears, from trawling the net yesterday and today, that it is mainly the Silentnight Miracoil 7 that has bad long term reviews. I actually found more bad posts about you than the bed and also some good ones about you, so it shows it is personal preference.

I remember having a very good quality, but very heavy mattress, which lasted ages but I ended up doing my back in for 6 weeks trying to turn it on my own. I currently have a mid range Slumberland which is a pile of carp. My son has a mid range Airsprung which I think is great!

Anyway, I've spent more on a dress that I've only worn once than I have spent on this mattress, so if it ends up that bad I hopefully won't lose too much SLEEP over it ha ha!

I'm only giving people the facts. If you don't want to listen, then that's your choice.

I haven't shot anyone down. Like I said I have given facts, because most people don't know the facts about the bed industry. I am the one who has been shot down by people like you, because you would obviously rather be ignorant of the truth. I wonder how many people who slated me for telling the truth will be regretting not listening to me in a couple of years time.........I suspect loads.

Well this is a perfect example of the consumer not knowing the bed industry.........the Posturetech spring system is the same as the Miracoil spring system, and as they are the same company it is probably made in the same factory.

It is a continuous spring system that most manufacturers used to use. However most have now stopped using it due to it being very unreliable and noisey.
