Links on emails

Hi Can some one please help? When I receive an email and it has a link on it suddenly they aren't live. This has only started in the last week and I wonder if I have touched something by mistake. I am not a great expert on the computer so any help in laymans terms would be appreciated.

Thanks

a quick google brought up this

to start, make sure OE is closed, press the windows key and r (or click start and run if your using xp) copy and paste the follwing.

    regsvr32 urlmon.dll

press enter, then try outlook again.

if it still doesnt work, try setting IE as the default browser.
  • Thankyou for your help. How do I set IE as my default browser.

open IE, click tools, click internet options, click programs tab, click make default.

Im using IE8, may be different if your using IE6, IE7 should be similar.
  • Thanks for all your help. I did as you suggested and it is all working now.

    Thanks.:j

You should always be very wary of clicking addresses in emails anyway - it is very easy to set up a link that appears to be going to some login page or other which instead goes to a scammers website which harvests login data or a page containing some scripting exploit that infects your machine.
