feeling cheesed off

what to do if seller is making very vague threats about me having a bargain and in his opinion the property is worth alot more than I am paying. I know the seller, worried that if he loses his house he is trying to sell he will put it on the market. He is selling what an estate agent said was worth. but the property is the onlly one I want.

the house is only worth what the buyer (you) are willing to pay so let him make his threats - plus it's only his opinion and you've obviously made an offer based on the figures by the EA.

If you feel you may have problems with this person and you're getting bad vibes, perhaps this isn't the house for you. If he's making threats now, he could get much worse further down the line and really force you into a corner.

He can at any time drop your offer and put the property back on the market. In some regions of England valutaions can go up month on month. However considering that he has not done this suggests his bark is bigger than his bite. If he is actively looking to gazump you he may cause you trouble down the line. Hang in there.
