No more venturing out of the DFW Board for me....its scary out there!!

I recently ventured out into the big bad world of the Pure Money forum...wow:eek:!! Once bitten twice shy. From now on I'm sticking with the cosey world of DFWs.

You peeps are so warm and welcoming and most of all... UNDERSTANDING.

Just wanted to let you know how appreciative I am of all the support on here, both directly and indirectly. I've learnt so much and I've faced up to so much in the last couple of months. I dread to think where I would have been in a years time without this forum.

SO A BIG THANK YOU TO ALL OF YOU

Same here, i'm more of a lurker than a poster, but love these boards, posted on another thread yesterday and got a less than complimentary response, think i'll keep lurking from now on.

dont go shy because one person posted a less than helpful comment, could have been a troll or could just have been one person having a bad day, we all have them and as everyone know when you are having a bad day you do tend to take it out on others

99% of people on these boards will try and be helpful so dont let the 1% put you off posting your suggestions, asking questions or just having a general chat

on a £100 shop you might on average get 70 items save
    10p per product = £7 a week ~ £28 a month
    20p per product = £14 a week ~ £56 a month
30p per product = £21 a week ~ £84 a month (or in other words one weeks shoping at the new price)

I know, i read these boards several times everyday and love them, the characters are brilliant, but the person who i tried to help just went back and changed his post so it was nothing like the original and then was very cutting in his comments. It wont put me off looking but i will think twice about posting in future!

dont worry to much, some people do not actually want proper honest help, you see it quite a lot that people come on here for a quick fix, and are not usually open to the hard work that is actually required to become debt free, but everyone has to run their own race and follow their own path, dont take it to heart and do post,

just remember the ONLY person they are hurting when they do things like that are themselves,

  • To be fair they weren't that harsh, more blunt (maybe bordering on rude, but that could just be me being sensitive), but when you're feeling a bit sensitive about your financial situation it's hard to hear that you should be more careful with your money! (Easier said than done for some of us:o). I will keep posting on DFW though, much more understanding :)

Oh YEAH! can so identify with that .... I try to avoid it now and just look at the freebie one. Very hard to sort out if a bargain is a need, or a want, or a might come in useful one day white elephant effort!:rotfl:

Don't let it put you off. Sometimes folk don't take all this debt business too easy. It isn't personal, they don't even know you!

Thing with the site it covers so many areas and everyone has different uses, some want cheap credit(I wish), some want a way out of debt and are struggling even desperate, others want to know where to invest there million quid, others just want to save a few quid on there electricity bills while others are fighting banks to get defaults removed and charges back. :)
Some people certainly dont approve of what others do so do justtell them.

    Hi

Sometimes people also say things we don't need to hear or want to hear, but I think in the main you will get good advice. Whether we take it, is another matter. :D This is a bit of advice from an older DFW, (we post on the old geezers and gals thread).:T:T Well done in dealing with your debt, and don't let it matter what other people say or think, just continue trying to beat the debt. And at least you are dealing with it instead of leaving it until retirement like we did. :o We all go about it in different way, some like to live a life whilst paying it all back, some go a direct route and stay totally focused and pay it off quickly. I personally could pay it back quicker, but when you get older you also realize that this time will never come again when it comes to enjoying life especially with our grandchildren. :)

I sometimes pop in to the savings and investments, just to see what they talk about, but its all above me.!! I don't have any savings to worry about yet, but one day.!!:j

    Good luck, and keep posting.
