Proud to be dealing with my debts
DFD - June '13, aiming for December '120 -
Well done Angel - I am slowly eating away at it and the two credit cards that agreed to freeze interest I love receiving those statements as the balance is slowly reducing. I don't freak when the postmas comes now though. I check my excel sheet and do all I can and have now taken a 2nd job, but want to be able to use that 2nd income to smash at each of my debts, but whilst OH is out of work that seems impossible. Wish I was brave enough to post my debts as a signature, but I am not. Well done though you must be feeling so proud of yourself. Good luck with the rest of it. Billie xx:j I belong to Mike's Mob :j0

Thank you so much!!
When I started I used to do everything that was going to up my income and also sold everything that wasn’t needed. But when all that ran out I found I was spending my life online and for me the amount of effort it took to keep up with all these schemes and plans wasn’t worth the £1 or £0.50 extra I made
So I stopped stressing myself and decided to live my life, I got a better job and then set up a regular payment with payplan and just watched the debts going down..
I still have holidays and treats and to be honest if I didn’t do that I would probably be debt free a lot quicker. However getting out of debt when you have anything over £20k is a long road and can be a huge chunk of your life. We were not put on this earth to live off excel spreadsheets. So my advice is once you have sold all your stuff and had fun on various websites get comfortable with your debt and watch it moving slowly down…..
Spring is here...
Thanks for your reply... and words of wisdom! I'm almost finished a degree programme and will graduate this year, so hopefully the payrise will help clear my feet so to speak.
I have a full time job, a fiance, a two and a half year old and study at uni 2 nights per week, so my spare time for "debt busting" is minimal to say the least!!
We've planned to clear out our loft soon and get rid of loads of stuff so hopefully that will unearth some more goodies to sell.
Will look out for your thread saying.... Debt Free!!0 -
Congraulations :j:j:j:j:jangeldiva. You must feel fantastic.
You are nearly there now, well done to you:ASmile loan - £2821.98 / £0:)

Congratulations.... you sound very much like myself !! I sold everything I didnt need to begin with, tried to make more money via clicking websites but didnt think it was worth the time (although I do still do the free scratchcard!)
I was obsessed with my spreadsheets but now only go in once or twice a week. Check my bank balance everyday though.
I'm so close to reaching the £10k mark.
The hardest thing is staying motivated. I'm always tempted to book a holiday or buy a new car.
I really should start ebaying again but lack the motivation especially with 2 kids to look after!

Congrats to you and what a great attitude you have! I recently decided to blow a lump of my 2nd income on a mini-break abroad instead of putting it on the debt. I have been properly told off by the family members who know I'm in debt but I know that if I didn't treat myself once in a while then I'd go crazy! I always view 2nd income as 'fun money', as long as my main income keeps the debts decreasing at a steady rate. We could all die tomorrow so we have a little bit of fun from time to time!
I am also thinking of giving up the online surveys. The payout is so pathetic and yet I seem to spend my life doing them.
Keep up the good work!

Well done! :T
I'm in a very similar position to you at the moment and know that when my statements come through over the next few days I will be just under the £10K mark too. It's a great feeling isn't it.
For the first time in a lot of years I'm starting to feel as though there really is light at the end of the tunnel.
Good luck on the rest of your debt free journey.Debt at LBM (May 2007) - £32,891
Debt at 06.04.10 - £9158.57. Getting there slowly. :j

Jazzie99, not long to go now you should hang in there its fantastic how far you have come. It really is hard to stay motivated, I guess that’s why we are all online here!! You have me in the mood I might do a free scratchcard.
In The Red 2009, yes I remember those surveys, caio and yougov I never ever built up enough to withdraw any money but I bet some of you reading have. I hope you had fun on your mini break hun!
