Hi,

we live in a semi-detached house and have mould + flakey paint on the bottom corners and walls on the semi-detached wall in the upstairs bedrooms as well as around some of the windows.

the exterior has been rendered but not painted. we are struggling to find the cause.

i enclose a few pics hope someone can shed some light

How many rooms is the damp in? Is it only the ones adjacent to the other house? How lomng has it been like it? Have you done anything to treat it?
Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.
  • What floor is the problem on, ground? first?

Have you checked your guttering is clear?

Is there a leaking downpipe or bushes / earh piled up against the exterior wall?

is some cases just poor ventilation in a room can cause that sort of damage even more so if furniture is pushed up close to walls

9 times out of 10 the sources of these problems are very simple and require very little money to put right, just good maintenace

its been like this for some time, maybe 12months, ive just been cleaning it off and its only on the walls on the semi detached side no other wall. it mainly in all three bedrooms. three of them are on that side.

the problem is only on the first floor and the ground floor is fine.

the wall outside has no guttering so nothing leaking.

there are air brickes in all the rooms but i cant understand why this happening.

i have noticed that we keep the bedroom doors closed will opening them help ?

    please advise.

How old is the property? Do you hang washing upstairs to dry?
