curtain drop measure from top of heading tape or bottom?

Hi, I am looking at a pair of curtains on John Lewis which states a drop of 132cm which is 52" ? Will this measurement have been taken from the bottom of the heading tape thus making the overall length of curtain 54" (standard size). I am hoping so because 54" would be perfect length for my window...

Thanks in advance!

The curtain drop is the length from the top to the bottom of the curtain.
  • Spent several years selling curtains at John Lewis, the drop is the overall drop from the top of the heading tape. strange though as the ready made cutains when I was there were 54" (137cm) 72" (183cm) and 90" (228cm) may be more likely to be a mis label on the size and they are actually 54"

Paul the Painter is right... probably a mistake.

I bet you are looking at John Lewis Leckford Pencil Pleat Curtains, Duck Egg.

I haven't looked at all of their curtains, but this is the only one on their first page that has a drop of 132cm.

wonder if i should take a chance they are 54" drop - might drop them a note...
  • On the just buy them side - that has got a small pattern repeat so it is unlikely they've had to cut it into strange lengths to make the best use of the fabric.

On the hmmmm side - they are a funny width, looks like they've been out of 122cm (48") wide fabric, which is unusual, most is 137/140 cm, so the sizing may be accurate.

I'd just pop into a shop, they really will not mind taking them out and measuring them for you, in fact the displays are set up to take a standard curtain out of the pack, so you could just measure that, or look to see if they are shorter than all the other ones. I would regularly take them out of the pack for customers, some people will simply not believe what it says on the packet, or your reassurance that the measurement is correct.
