UK based interest bearing Euro account

Options
Later this year I will be receiving a payment in Euros. I don't feel it is a good time to change in into Sterling and would rather keep it in Euros for now. I know where / how to get a UK based Euro current account, but would like to also get interest. Can anyone tell me where I might find an interest bearing Euro deposit account, and even better if there are any "best buys". Apologies if this is covered elsewhere - If it is, I haven't been able to find it.

Citibank offer Euro Deposit accounts but the interest rates are less than wonderful - http://www.citibank.co.uk/personal/banking/international/summary.htm#eur

Most high street banks will offer Euro accounts to their customers - but look closely at the charges AND the account will be domiciled abroad in either Jersey or Isle of man.
  • I am hoping to open up this forum question again to see if anyone either has personal experience of a UK bank offering (good) interest rates on Euro balances or whether anyone knows if opening an account in, say, Germany at a German bank, or maybe a UK bank in Germany is possible. I get paid in Euros to a Euro account with a UK bank, and I presently transfer it to a Sterling account which has the Euro account linked to it. I'm sure I lose out a lot with the transfer and I lose even more when Sterling strengthens. With the transfers I am talking about, the losses can run into thousands of pounds. I am inclined to leave the Euro amounts in for longer until the exchange rate drops again so that I benefit from a transfer to Sterling. However, during this period, I am losing interest, (no interest on my Euro account) which I would otherwise get if I transferred to Sterling, albeit with losses through the transfer when Sterling is strong. Yes, I want to win both ways: get interest in my Euro income balance and no lose out when I transfer to Sterling. Someone mentioned Citibank, but in other posts elsewhere the customer service side is reportedly lacking via overseas call-centres. Anyone got any ideas?
