Hi guys
My cousin has jsut bought a trip to London with Co-Op Travel. The trip is with Superbreak, it is train from York to London with East Coast Trains and hotel etc.
She is wanting to do the National Rail two for 1 madame tussauds offer.
However, is sceptical about whether she qualifies for it.As the tickets are slightly different from usual ones.
They are small cards (similar to the usual ones)
They have - Her name on
- East Coast (train company)
- Superbreak
But on the back it does say "Subject to conditions shown in National Rail conditions"
Lady at national rail did think they would be OK but didn't want to say for sure, as she wasn't sure.
Can anybody confirm?

Do the tickets have a crowsfoot symbol on the front? That's the deciding factor. From memory it's at the bottom left but ICBW.0

In which case, the news may be bad. Why not purchase Travelcards (it needs to be from a rail station rather than a tube station) on arrival as these will qualify for the offer. The London Eye is now included in the 2 for 1 offer if you are interested.

They are tickets for travel on London's transport that provide unlimited rides. They come in various versions, peak/off peak, covering specified zones, etc.
Most tourists would want a zones 1/2 off peak ticket - from memory £5.60 a head a day.
Not necessarily bad news - you were going to need one to travel about anyway, and they are a lot cheaper than individual tickets at £4 a ride.0 -
Your cousin has to purchase the daily Travel card from a train station (not a tube station) to get the 2for1 offers. If she buys the TC from a train station it will have the BR crows foot logo and London transport (LT) on it, but if purchased from a tube station it will only have the the LT logo on it and not be eligible for the offers. There are London stations that are both train and tube stations, just get her to purchase the TC from the train station ticket office eg. Euston, Waterloo, Liverpool Street, Kings Cross, Vistoria are all train and tube stations.
www.tfl.gov.uk for information on travelcards. (Oyster which is a plastic card you top up with money to travel in London is not eligible for the 2for1 offers, it must be a paper ticket, which the TC is)0 -
Email Tussauds/Merlin and ask them if they will accept it. The vouchers are so popular that they will know what you are referring to. When I was involved in admissions at my last job, I would honour any ticket that showed evidence of train travel. ATOC never provided us with any guidelines, etc.0

can I just ask if a rail ticket, well 2 singles covering the train to London, will be allowed on the 2 for 1s? ie, travel to london 6th april, return 11th apr, rather than havine one ticket that covers the day the attraction is visited.
Thanks0 -

Yes, as long as you show both the inward and outward bits.
From the website FAQs here
http://www.daysoutguide.co.uk/faq.aspx
"If for example you are buying single tickets, e.g.Advance tickets to London for a one-way journey on a Monday, and Advance tickets for departing London on a Friday you will be able to use the vouchers during the Monday-Friday period, provided you show both outward and return tickets (remember to tell the train company staffs that you need to keep your outward tickets!)."0 -
Thanks very much for that.0
