Appealing speeding ticket

I thought there was a 'special' (ie. neither Guilty nor Not Guilty) plea of 'Good Reason' for speeding?
It's rarely accepted, and mostly just for medical emergencies; but then again, that's exactly what this was - of sorts...0 -
Following an ambulance does not give you a right to drive dangerously and speed - doing so could have caused another death.
Not being harsh but doing so is crazy, did the driver think they had special rights or something as they knew someone inside the ambulance.
Ambulance drivers are well trained, run of the mill drivers aren't.
Accept the fine and points and see it as a lesson learnt - next time travel inside the ambulance and keep others safe.

There's always one "holier than thou" poster.
Everyone knows it's not the correct thing to do, but put in the same position I'd bet 99 of a 100 would do the same, I know I would. And ambulances aren't exactly race cars.I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -
Why, was she some sort of accident claims specialist???The OP suggested the woman was driving dangerously chasing an ambulance.
On a serious note, I can sympathise with the person involved (having been in the same situation myself, but I knew where the speed cameras were). The crew should explain that they have exemption when travelling on blue lights, but a private citizen doesn't. I would suggest (depending on the details you were trying to find out) that if it's she has a clean licence, a single SP30 would not have a huge effect on insurance premiums. As others have said, a traffic cop would probably have seen the incident differently.Fight Crime : Shoot Back.
It's the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without being seduced by it.

I love this guy :rotfl:such an awesome way with people. MOMENT
You know driving at speed does not necessarily equate to dangerous driving. Driving at inappropriate speed is more the issue and as we don't know the details of the speed, the road or the limit involved, no one here can possibly suggest 'dangerous driving'. As others have said, she may have been doing 35 in a 30, which counts as speeding, but isn't indicative of dangerous.0 -
I haven't seen the slightest evidence of dangerous driving, were you there? The OP suggested the woman was driving dangerously chasing an ambulance.....
Meanwhile back on planet earth….
The OPs first post said “speeding behind an ambulance”, the first mention of dangerous driving was you in post #5 which was immediately followed by the OP saying she hadn’t said dangerous
Speeding is not automatically dangerous, the same as dangerous doesn’t have to involve speeding.0 -

As has been said - she would have been pulled over for speeding, not necessarily dangerous driving. And in fact a copper may well have let her off. Two of my friends were let off after they were pulled over. One of them was doing twice the speed limit!
(speed cameras, on the other hand, tend not to take note of whether you are young, blond and attractive :rotfl:)0
