BTW the comments about 16x media being fine, it depends on the writer.

If its a decent brand such as Pioneer, NEC then it will be fine.

My BTC 4x writer would not write any 8x discs.

A Teac writer should be fine, good quality writers.

Question though - Why do you want to use 16x discs?

8x Ridisc Xtreme from SVP = best disc ever.

(For DVD+R look for something with a RICOH dye code)

I'm still having difficult bank DVD to choose there are many around.

What do you think of Sony DVD+R. It has a new AccuCORE technology. Has anyone heard of this?

    Thanks for your replies.

Just buy cheapest you can find, and store them in the dark.

I wouldn't get too worried about which brand, I buy the cheapest I can find, and have never had a coaster yet.
Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time?

yeah i had trouble with 16x speed disks in my pioneer drive. they would only write at 4X even tho an 8X drive!

    bit of trial and error...
  • silly question!!! make sure your dvdr drive supports + and - discs.....think it will but better safe than sorry...lol
p.s. i only write at 4X, seems better results and you only save a small ammount of time at 6X etc. I find that :- slower write speed means less problems.... hope this helps :)
