Afternoon all, we have lovely weather, had breakfast in the garden, had a quick look on here, now must go and do something productive like put the kettle on:rotfl:, I have sooo much ironing to do and I hate ironing, I might do half an hour, then have another coffee....

Are you getting the general picture of my day, my OH thinks I slave away all day at the housework, if only he knew.

Have a lovely afternoon whatever you are doing, and mind those trolls.

    Hi washer
Half an hour of ironing followed by a cup of coffee sounds good to me (provided you absolutely HAVE to do the ironing, of course:rotfl:)
    Enjoy your afternoon

Does anyone ever use the 'like' button?

I just clicked it by accident on a thread! but occasionally I do click on it but I'm not sure what effect it actually has?

I don't know what the "like" button actually does? I suspect it could be for those in MSE towers, maybe if a number of people press the button, they read it and may use it in the weekly email, I often see links to threads in the weekly email, surely those at MSE towers don't have the time to read all the post on the forum unlike me, who still hasn't done the ironing. I have reorganised the kitchen windowsill candles, I had to do something useful after my laptop crashed!

Thats funny, thats my kind of day. I too would consider that a useful achievement for the day.

Well I have clicked it in the past if I think a thread would make a good DFW thread of the week. So you are probably right that its just for the towers benefit.

Mind you I could do with a dislike button at the moment (possible opportunity for a roll eye smiley here)

Sorry washer, you've had a double quote - I love that - I'd rather do anything but the ironing:).

I think the "like" button is for MSE towers as well - otherwise how would they know which are the popular threads. I think they probably have other things to do rather than avoid the ironing and work they're supposed to be doing (in my case, and probably Tixy's as well:rotfl:).

Agree Tixy, I could use a "dislike" button at the moment as well:(

Over the last few weeks we have had a number of "troll" attacks on the boards.

What is a Troll? A troll is a person that posts deliberately provocative, nasty or hurtful comments on threads. They may be a person with no previous connection to the board or someone that has created a pseudonym to get their point made.

If you should get a comment made on any thread you post asking for help and advice please realise this comment is not directed at you personally.
We really are all a lovely bunch here (oops, modest, sorry) so please ignore these nasty comments and continue to post here as normal.

what should i do if i get a comment made on my thread?

firstly do not respond to the comment as this invariably is what the person wants. At the bottom of the post, on the left hand side is a red "warning" triangle. Click this and then "send" the message that comes up. This will report the message to abuse who will review it's content and delete it.

The person we had this morning was particularly vile and nasty and please believe me is an extreme rarity here.
Above all PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE THE BOARDS. THIS SITE IS AN ASSET TO SO MANY, ESPECIALLY WHEN IT FEELS THE WORLD IS FALLING IN ON YOU. THERE IS SUCH A WEALTH OF ADVICE HERE TO BE HAD THAT THE COMMENTS OF ONE MUST NOT DETER YOU FROM AVAILING YOURSELF OF THE KNOWLEDGE HERE!!!!

It is testament to the work that martin has done and continues to do that so many people give their time knowledge and experience freely to others, without judgement, to lift people out of the depths of debt crisis

PLEASE DO NOT LET THE ACTIONS OF THE MINORITY RUIN THAT.

    Kind wishes
