What is a Troll? A troll is a person that posts deliberately provocative, nasty or hurtful comments on threads. They may be a person with no previous connection to the board or someone that has created a pseudonym to get their point made.

If you should get a comment made on any thread you post asking for help and advice please realise this comment is not directed at you personally.
We really are all a lovely bunch here (oops, modest, sorry) so please ignore these nasty comments and continue to post here as normal.

what should i do if i get a comment made on my thread?

firstly do not respond to the comment as this invariably is what the person wants. At the bottom of the post, on the left hand side is a red "warning" triangle. Click this and then "send" the message that comes up. This will report the message to abuse who will review it's content and delete it.

The person we had this morning was particularly vile and nasty and please believe me is an extreme rarity here.
Above all PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE THE BOARDS. THIS SITE IS AN ASSET TO SO MANY, ESPECIALLY WHEN IT FEELS THE WORLD IS FALLING IN ON YOU. THERE IS SUCH A WEALTH OF ADVICE HERE TO BE HAD THAT THE COMMENTS OF ONE MUST NOT DETER YOU FROM AVAILING YOURSELF OF THE KNOWLEDGE HERE!!!!

It is testament to the work that martin has done and continues to do that so many people give their time knowledge and experience freely to others, without judgement, to lift people out of the depths of debt crisis

PLEASE DO NOT LET THE ACTIONS OF THE MINORITY RUIN THAT.

    Kind wishes

Good evening all, High drama here today at Hooray Hall, Lady H is preparing for the party on Monday, 24 bottle of red 12 of bubbly, and thats just for lunch. Lord Hooray has an all terrain electric invalid buggy he uses to wizz around the gardens even though he can't see where he is going. This teatime he missed the path above the tennis court and rolled it 20ft down a steep (very steep) bank still sat on it. After it rolled over him he ended up pinned underneath it and against the court fencing.

It was handy who eventually found him. The Paramedics called the Air Ambulance to fly him to Hospital. The paramedic that came out was the same one who helped cut him out of his car, when he missed the junction at the end of Hooray lane, wiping out 2 other cars and himself, back last October.

It looked like a broken arm and ankle. 2 years ago he broke his arm in a fall on the stairs. Handy can honestly say that he has had to wipe his bosses ar!!e for him!. Anyway after all the drama it turns out to be only severe bruising. Lady H was furious with the medics, "do you really have to cut his cashmere jersey off, It cost over £200.00". We can sit him up and paralyse him I said. The medics must think we are a heartless set of B's at Hooray Hall.

Like His car crash, he had been told not to drive anymore, but insisted that he still could, the number of times I have hidden the keys to the buggy and still he does it. What realy grates is the thousands it must have cost to airlift him, all because he thinks his parkinsons and dimensia dont affect him.

Don't think Handy is hard on this subject, 5 years mountain rescue training, and 2 parents with altzhiemers give you a certain perspective on life.

Best wishes all, thanks for letting me have a rant. Give me 5 mins and handy will be back to normal.

Hi 3 Dogs & Allie, I have found an outlet on here, since going into domestic service, Cos thats what it is, you need to blow off to ordinary people and half of the world just won't believe you! I got into this game because it was one way of avioding being homeless. Yes it can happen to anyone, it only takes one bad descision. When we were opp north with the hoorays, at least we had a village pub. One half of the village were like the Hoorays, and the other was normal. You could go in at night and someone would say heard about it, here have a pint. So that wasnt so bad.

Believe me a may moan but the Hoorays arnt the worst, when we lived really up north. The Old Laird made Monarch of the Glen seem like a reality show. We were paying the estate £500 a month for our cottage (but what a cottage) and they were paying Mrs Handy and myself 350 a month for doing 60 hour weeks. I there I was Gardener, Groom, Handyman, Maechanic, River warden, Ghillie, Booking Clerk, Etc. We were offered a job on Lord Vesseys estate after the previos Incumbant (handyman) died on the job. (I should be so lucky).

The house was 20 miles from the nearest road, 60 miles from the nearest shop, doctor, and school. And you had to supply you own 4X4 and Tools. The pay was minimum wage plus accomodation and you could generate your own electricity for 8 hours a day. The estate agent couldnt understand why we turned it down!

    Cheers, handyman123.
