What is a Troll? A troll is a person that posts deliberately provocative, nasty or hurtful comments on threads. They may be a person with no previous connection to the board or someone that has created a pseudonym to get their point made.
If you should get a comment made on any thread you post asking for help and advice please realise this comment is not directed at you personally.
We really are all a lovely bunch here (oops, modest, sorry) so please ignore these nasty comments and continue to post here as normal.
what should i do if i get a comment made on my thread?
firstly do not respond to the comment as this invariably is what the person wants. At the bottom of the post, on the left hand side is a red "warning" triangle. Click this and then "send" the message that comes up. This will report the message to abuse who will review it's content and delete it.
The person we had this morning was particularly vile and nasty and please believe me is an extreme rarity here.
Above all PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE THE BOARDS. THIS SITE IS AN ASSET TO SO MANY, ESPECIALLY WHEN IT FEELS THE WORLD IS FALLING IN ON YOU. THERE IS SUCH A WEALTH OF ADVICE HERE TO BE HAD THAT THE COMMENTS OF ONE MUST NOT DETER YOU FROM AVAILING YOURSELF OF THE KNOWLEDGE HERE!!!!
It is testament to the work that martin has done and continues to do that so many people give their time knowledge and experience freely to others, without judgement, to lift people out of the depths of debt crisis
PLEASE DO NOT LET THE ACTIONS OF THE MINORITY RUIN THAT.

Hi niccatw, you just reminded me I got a ticket this eve must check before I turn in. My last job before this was in your part of the country, the people I worked for were similar, but it was the highland midge that finished me off that time. It was like living in monarch of the glen. Still its not all bad tommorow I've got to go round parts of the garden (8 acres) with the weed killer, lets see what sort of balls I can make of it. By the way wheres niddy has his alarm not gone off this evening.
Best wishes handyman123.Mother Nature Don't Draw Straight lines, We are Broken Moulds in Life's Grand Design, We look a Mess but we're doing fine,

The person that finds a way to kill off the midge en mass will be a very, very, very rich person! And boy do I wish they'd bl**dy hurry up and invent such a wonderous thing!
I think you're right, Niddy either decided to have a duvet night or he's granted himself a holiday.
Or maybe I sent a few people over to his thread earleir today :whistle:Jan10: 28,315.81 Jan11: 18,015.32 Jan12: 7,682.58 Jan13: 2,987.73 Current debt: 1,225.55

Are places like QuickQuid allowed to post on the forum? The post is polite and helpful and the phone number is legit, but I just thought it was a bit odd that they seem to have registerd just to post a reply to one person (who admittedly used QuickQuid in the title, so it might have been easy enough to find).
Dunno if I'm just being suspicious! So thought I'd ask you guys before I go wading in.

Dunno, nicca, looks a bit odd to me as it's only their first post. Maybe pm fermi so he can check it out tomorrow morning, it might be legit, but maybe not.
Anyway, if niddy does log in later he'll see the link on here and he'll sort it out if it isn't legit.
How does that sound? The time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time
