Notice to newcomers part 6!!!

Hello. I'm a newbie to this forum - I came here looking for advice about beds. I have NO idea what most of you are talking about but this feels kind of like AA. In which case, hello; my name is Susan and I'm in debt. I'm working my way out of it but I have the willpower of a kit-kat on a minute-by-minute basis. This website and a lot of help from friends is getting me through but THIS IS HARD and I admire anyone who is going through what I am right now.

Its bizarre because (I think at least) I used to be good at being frugal and then I got the high powered job and a whole bunch of problems and the money got spent....and spent....and spent - all on plastic of course and then the odd consolidation loan (make my last payment next May) and then a remortgage or two and then four years ago I started my own business and wasn't drawing a salary but kept the lifestyle like I was. So, we are where we are. I hate it. I am determined to be debt free but its going to be a real struggle because I am a generous person by nature and I don't find it easy to put me first.

Just remember, no-one has the right to judge you; they don't understand who you are or how you got where you are. Be proud of yourself that you've chosen to live a different - and hopefully better, debt-free life - and that you're working towards that goal.

So, I am glad to have visited; I don't have a huge amount of free time so I probably won't visit more than once a week but I'll be silently rooting for each and every one of you who is on the road to someplace more rewarding.

firstly do not respond to the comment as this invariably is what the person wants. At the bottom of the post, on the left hand side is a red "warning" triangle. Click this and then "send" the message that comes up. This will report the message to abuse who will review it's content and delete it.

The person we had this morning was particularly vile and nasty and please believe me is an extreme rarity here.
Above all PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE THE BOARDS. THIS SITE IS AN ASSET TO SO MANY, ESPECIALLY WHEN IT FEELS THE WORLD IS FALLING IN ON YOU. THERE IS SUCH A WEALTH OF ADVICE HERE TO BE HAD THAT THE COMMENTS OF ONE MUST NOT DETER YOU FROM AVAILING YOURSELF OF THE KNOWLEDGE HERE!!!!

It is testament to the work that martin has done and continues to do that so many people give their time knowledge and experience freely to others, without judgement, to lift people out of the depths of debt crisis

PLEASE DO NOT LET THE ACTIONS OF THE MINORITY RUIN THAT.

Hi :wave: lawnordersue and welcome to the lunatic asylum that is the "notice to newcomers" aka "trollzapper" thread. Yes, as Nargle says, we are all slightly barking at times, but we do have a serious aim at heart - to zap and/or distract any trolls:).
